Highlights from Web 2.0 Expo in San Francisco
Last week, a few of us from the Central Desktop team traveled up to San Francisco for the Web 2.0 Expo. Admittedly, since this was my first tradeshow experience, I didn’t know what to expect, or whom I would meet. However, I was pleasantly surprised by the diversity of companies in attendance varying from large corporations to smaller start-ups.
It was great to be able to speak with expo attendees who wanted to learn more about Central Desktop as a whole and the new feature we were showcasing, Central Desktop for Office. We received a warm reception for Central Desktop for Office which allows for multi-user, co-authoring capabilities for editing Word, Excel or PowerPoint documents. It was pretty exciting being able to give live demos to the audience at our booth. Here’s a video tour of our booth at the show:
Fortunately, we were also able to meet some of our existing customers who wanted to come by and say hello and even put in a feature request or two. After working with customers via phone all the time, it was a great to be able to put a face to a name and company!
Some additional highlights from our Web 2.0 Expo experience include having people attempt to decode the message on our Central Desktop give-away shirts, the booth pub crawl where attendees were able to explore the various booths while enjoying a refreshing cold one along the way, and lastly, the overall positive feedback we received about Central Desktop.
The old adage “time flies when you’re having fun!” definitely stayed true for our trip to the Web 2.0 Expo. For anyone who came by to stop and chat with us or simply smiled a friendly hello as you passed by, we appreciate your enthusiasm and interest in our platform and we look forward to seeing you at upcoming events!
And one more note – congratulations to the winner of the Cinemin Swivel portable multimedia projector, Abi Jones, from the Loomis Group in San Francisco. We hope you enjoy your new gadget!
