Central Desktop Sponsors Office 2.0 Conference 2008

Just another reminder that Central Desktop is a Silver Sponsor for the Office 2.0 Conference next week (Sept 3-5th) at the St. Regis Hotel in San Francisco, CA.  We are Office 2.0 alumni and have enjoyed each year that we've attended. The Office 2.0 Community is where we belong.

Some people have asked us why we attend and sponsor the show each year? 

As a start-up ourselves, we first attended Office 2.0 in 2006.  We couldn't afford much - but we attended, participated on a panel and gleaned significant value from the experience.  We met and forged partnerships with other companies that have been in place ever since.  We've met and found new customers each year and even shared beers with our competition. 

Since then, we've sponsored/attended one trade show per year; and every year its been the Office 2.0 Conference.  Perhaps more so than any other conference - it comes closest to representing what Central Desktop is about:  lean, Enterprise 2.0, start-ups with innovative technology serving businesses. 

This year's line-up proves to be just as exciting as years past with some interesting sessions including:

• Dave Coleman of Collaborate.com will be facilitating a Collaboratory Experiment where they will test collaborating on "real-world" crisis problems - in real-time on Sept. 3rd.
  
• An Unconference from 9am - 5pm on Sept 3rd.
• A Requisite Cocktail Party to loosen everyone up that evening from 6pm - 9pm.

Last year, all conference attendees received an iPhone (I gave mine away, thank you).  This year, in his everlasting attempt to push the envelope further as a conference host, all paid attendees will receive a HP 2133 Mini-Note PC!

On the same note, we wanted to acknowledge that Ismael Ghalimi works harder than any other conference host that we've ever met or seen.  Many of the emails, logistics and planning are coming directly from Ismael's email box!

For Ismael and his crew - the Office 2.0 Conference is a personal event that began as a passionate hobby - and has blossomed into a meaningful event.  We honor and commend anyone that builds value from scratch - wealth from nothing.  While Ismael plays a larger corporate role in his double-life at Intalio, his true start-up spirit is manifest at Office 2.0.
